The Urgent Mission of the NCWR
Helping People
At the National Center for Wellness and Recovery (NCWR), we are dedicated to helping people facing the challenges of pain, addiction and substance use disorders. Our mission is to make a positive impact through groundbreaking programs focused on research, education, treatment and work that helps eliminate the harmful effects associated with substance use disorders.
A Vision for Change
At the National Center for Wellness and Recovery, our goal is to be the most accurate, reliable and up-to-date resource in the country for understanding pain and addiction. We bring people from different backgrounds together to help study, prevent and treat addiction in various ways. Our goal is not just research but also to teach and spread knowledge to change how people think about addiction and substance use issues.
Research
The NCWR uses expertise in neuroscience and drug design to study how addiction and pain intersect.
In collaborations with academia, industry and government, we bring the best minds together to advance state of the art research and develop new solutions. Our research includes pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
Leading the Way
We seek to actively partner with community organizations, corporate leaders and other research entities to harness collective resources and expertise.
These collaborations magnify the impact and reach of our research, expanding our influence on pain and addiction treatment.
Bench to Bedside
A key strength of the NCWR is our integration of cutting-edge research and clinical treatment of patients facing addiction. We’re committed to translating scientific findings into real-world solutions. This “bench to bedside” approach translates scientific research into clinical treatments to address unmet patient needs and inspire hope.
Who We Are
In the past 10 years, we’ve provided education for medical students, established an addiction recovery clinic and contributed to the field of research on pain and addiction.
